After the Throne of Death was extinguished, the boundary between life and death dissolved entirely. Souls can neither dissipate nor reincarnate — they precipitate as Viral Entities, parasitic in the city's electronic circuits and discarded cybernetic frames. In the mechanical graveyards of the Border Wasteland, tens of thousands of decommissioned war mechs stand on their own without power, repeating the dying words of soldiers who died thirty years ago. The exit of civilization has been welded shut.
